People with significant speech or language deficits use various Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods to supplement or replace speech that is not functional. High-tech AAC includes electronic devices that help people express themselves by producing voice - speech generating devices. AAC devices allow the person to use picture symbols, letters, words, and/or phrases to create messages. Some devices can be programmed to produce different spoken languages.
