Due to the diverse manifestations of Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) and its potential impact on communication access, professionals and caregivers may find it challenging to provide optimal support with high-tech AAC systems. Tobii Dynavox has developed a Guide to AAC Accommodations for People with CVI, offering practical recommendations such as motor planning, using multiple modalities, reducing visual clutter, highlighting new items, and thoughtful symbol selection. This course reviews the new guide and includes case studies and demos of TD Snap software considerations. In this course, you will learn about symbol selection and programming considerations.

Learning Outcomes:

- Identify two AAC programming accommodations for AAC users with CVI or Vision Impairments.

- Distinguish two features in symbol selection for an AAC user with CVI or Vision Impairments.

- Identify two tools available to support high-tech AAC users with CVI or Vision Impairments.
